Pelcro’s Mailchimp Integration: An Introduction

What is Mailchimp?

Mailchimp is an all-in-one marketing platform that helps companies manage and talk to their clients, customers, and other interested parties. Their marketing approach focuses on healthy contact management practices, beautifully designed campaigns, and robust data analysis tools.


Pelcro’s Mailchimp Integration: What can you do?

This integration allows you to easily control and send automated emails based on Pelcro’s Platform events. With it, you can leverage the power of both Pelcro and Mailchimp without needing additional coding processes. It allows companies to control the copy, branding, and call-to-actions while leveraging data from the integration.


Getting Started: A Step-by-Step Introduction

  1. Create Mailchimp account: If you don’t already have a Mailchimp account, you’ll need to create one to use the integration; click here to learn more.

  2. Create a Mailchimp Audience: Your first step is to create an audience; this is where you’ll store and manage all your contact data. While we always recommend that you make a new audience list for the integration, you can still use any audience list in your Mailchimp account.

  1. Audience fields and MERGE tags MUST have the following three fields:

  2. 1- field first name and field merge tag is: FNAME

  3. 2- field last name and field merge tag is: LNAME

  4. 3- field token and field merge tag is: TOKEN fields and merge tags in details

  1. Get your Audience List ID:

  2. You’ll need to add the audience list ID from your Mailchimp account to Pelcro. This can be done in five simple steps by following this link. *Note that the audience list MUST have the three fields mentioned above.

  3. Generate a Mailchimp API Key:

  4. You can generate a new API key for the integration using the managerial permissions on your Mailchimp account. Go to Accounts > Extras > API Key. Click here to learn more.


If you’ve followed the steps we mentioned above, then you should have successfully created your API Key and prepped your Pelcro – Mailchimp integration, now it’s time to move onto your Pelcro account.

  1. Log into your Pelcro Account and find the “integration” icon on the left-side menu.

  1. Click on the Mailchimp icon.

  1. Add the API Key and Audience list ID that you want to use for this integration, then click the “Add New” button.

*Note that you won’t be able to restore or read the full API key string after clicking the “Add New” button as we mask it as per our security protocols.
